Calm and Peaceful Spirit

You can be determined without being frantic. You can be powerfully purposeful without thrashing around and bouncing off the walls.

Let your sense of determination come not from fear, but from love. Focus your energy not on what you wish to avoid, but on what you intend to create.

In a calm and peaceful spirit there is great power. When driven by a positive purpose, you'll always have the energy to move forward.

There may certainly be situations you detest, that you wish to move quickly away from. Yet when that is your only focus, when you're constantly looking backwards, you're more likely to stumble.

Choose where you do want to be, what you do want to experience and the life you do want to lead. Make your goals positive, and your actions will be immensely more effective.

Be calmly and persistently determined to achieve what you have chosen to achieve. And you'll find ways to put every day, and every circumstance, to work in your favor.

Determination...

You deserve the very best achievement of which you're capable. The challenges and setbacks and disappointments are there to make you determined enough to get it. When it absolutely seems like there's no way forward, keep going. There's a way. If you're not getting the results you expected, see it as an opportunity to experiment with other approaches. You'll likely find something that works even better than you could have imagined. Eventually you'll look back on all the challenges and be thankful for them. You'll realize that the strength and effectiveness gained in working through those challenges added great value to the whole undertaking. You won't avoid all the setbacks, but then you really wouldn't want to. For you can choose to take them all in stride and let them make you that much stronger, that much more determined, and that much more successful. Instead of feeling sorry for yourself, feel inspired about yourself. After all, you had the courage to get started in the first place and you have the determination to keep going no matter what.

Possibilities

Start each day the way you wish to live it. Take positive
control of your thoughts, your actions, your feelings and
your attitude before some random occurrence ends up imposing
its perspective on you.

Be open to the surprises while also being decisive and
focused about what you intend to do. Get a few nice
accomplishments under your belt early on, and set an
effective, empowering pace for the whole day.

Right away, find some new thing for which to be thankful.
Your sincere gratitude will shine its light on the best of
the day's possibilities.

When you feel a worry coming, move quickly to transform it
into creative action. If it seems that you're beginning to
be overwhelmed, focus intently on whatever is most important
to you.

While the day is young, decide on some new way that you can
make a meaningful difference for others. Then start taking
the steps that will make it happen.

Give yourself some real power and effectiveness by beginning
each day in a joyfully decisive and lovingly purposeful way.
And life grows richer with each passing hour.

Learn from them

One of the smartest things you can do is to entertain the
possibility that you may be mistaken. Because if you are
mistaken, and you're able to see it, you have the
opportunity for great progress.

There is no dishonor in being mistaken. Yet there is great
folly indeed in being so stubborn that you refuse to admit
your own mistakes.

Mistakes can be powerful teachers. By knowing firsthand what
does not work, you gain much greater understanding about
what does work, and why.

If you're not willing to accept the possibility of mistakes,
you're not going to make much headway. Though there's no
need to purposely make mistakes, there's no reason to live
in fear of them either.

Even if you are already effective, there likely are ways to
be yet more effective. Even if your mistakes are not
disastrous, there is still much that you can learn from
them.

Greatest Blessings

Many of your greatest blessings can stay buried for years
under layers of comfort and complacency. Often, you realize
the full value of those blessings only when difficulties
come along.

Life's most serious challenges do not arrive so as to punish
you. Rather, they serve to shine a light on what is truly
meaningful and valuable.

You have strengths and skills that you may never know about
until a crisis compels you to uncover them and put them to
use. In times of great difficulty, you are forced to call
upon a reservoir of strength you may have never before known
you had.

When life throws great challenges at you, that's not the
time to give up on the values and dreams that mean the most
to you. In fact, that's the ideal time to reconnect with the
very best that is within you.

Within your most treasured values you will find your
greatest motivation, inspiration, creativity, effectiveness
and strength. With each challenge, you have a new
opportunity to discover new dimensions of your skills and
strengths.

Vanishing fear

Your thoughts are what frighten you. Choose to change them, and the fear is gone.
