Expect The Best

Let your high expectations push you forward. But don't let them create disappointments that hold you back.

It's great when you expect the best. But it's important to keep in mind that you won't get all the way there immediately, on the first attempt.

When you're disappointed by the results, that's no reason to give up your high expectations. On the contrary, it's a good time to recommit yourself to those high expectations and perhaps to even raise them a bit.

Instead of being discouraged by less than spectacular results, be encouraged by the fact that you're aiming so high. Double down on your expectations by becoming more determined than ever.

You won't instantly achieve what you set out to achieve. The fact that it will take a while to reach makes your goal all the more valuable.

Expect the best and if you fail to get it, continue to expect the best. Eventually you'll reach the goal, and it will be well worth all your positive persistence.

Easy to become Comfortable

It can be easy to become comfortable, and that comfort can then become a trap. Though comfort feels nice, it can also hold you back from being your best. After a while, as good as it can feel, comfort will become stale and tedious. You have a fundamental need for growth that, sooner or later, must be fulfilled. Instead of using the comfort you've achieved as a refuge from life, use it as a platform from which you will have the confidence to reach even higher. When you're feeling comfortable, see it as an opportunity to raise your standards. No matter what level you've reached, you are always capable of reaching even higher. What a shame it would be to miss out on life's biggest opportunities just because you wanted to stay comfortable. Think back on all the times in your life when you've made the greatest progress. Although those times very likely felt uncomfortable, look at all the wonderful and valuable things you accomplished. Enjoy the comfort you've earned, and then step boldly beyond that comfort. For there's no end to the real value and joy that you can create.

Dream Big

How big is your dream? Make sure it's big enough to overwhelm all the challenges. Are life's pains and problems and annoyances getting to you too often? Though you can't stop them from popping up, you can stop them from dragging you down. When you're passionate about where you want to go, you'll more easily deal with all the things that happen where you are. When you focus on what's on the other side of the challenges, you'll find the strength to persist through those challenges. There is a beautiful purpose within you. It is a purpose so compelling that it absolutely will not allow you to give up. Open yourself to the truth of who you are, and you open yourself to that purpose. Allow that purpose to inspire you, connect with it, and tap into its undeniable power. Express that purpose with a dream that is too big and too wonderful and too meaningful to abandon.
