Gloomy like the leaves that lye beneath me
As I walk this wet October morning
The smell of musty chilling breeze
Icy air to breathe that grabs your lungs and squeezes them
I stroll along this damp trailBundled in coats, gloves and scarves
Pretending my heart is safe
Although wondering if my heart should become frozen
Become numb and no longer feel
Maybe to even freeze the part of my mind
Of the memories of my past
I so wish to leave behind
